WASHINGTON, D.C.
 – Washington Mystics forward Emma Meesseman was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played against the Dallas Wings and the Minnesota Lynx. It is the first player of the week recognition of Meesseman’s career.

In Washington’s 87-79 win over the Wings, Meesseman netted her third double double of the season with 23 points, shooting 10 for 13 from the field and grabbing 12 rebounds.  In the contest against the Minnesota Lynx, she scored 19 points and had seven rebounds, bringing her averages for the week to 21.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while shooting .633 (19-30) from the floor.

Meeseman is currently averaging career-high numbers in points per game (14.8) and rebounds per game (6.9).

A 6-4 forward from Belgium, she was selected in the second round (19th overall) of the 2013 WNBA draft. That year she was the youngest player in the league at 19 and played in every game. During her sophomore campaign, Meesseman started every game and was a candidate for Most Improved Player of the Year.

Washington will travel to Connecticut to take on the Sun on Tuesday, June 14 and will return home to host the Atlanta Dream on June 18 at 7:00 p.m.
